Have you ever felt like life is getting to you?  Like life is beating you down?

Life can do that sometimes.  We like to look at it as purifying a precious metal.  When precious metal ore is dug up from the Earth, it brought to a refinery and poured into a smelting pot.  Here it is heated so hot that it turns into a liquid form.  What happens next is crucial.

All of the impurities rise to the top and are skimmed off.

Then the ore is cooled and hardened and repeated until the precious metal is pure.

During those times in life that we feel things aren’t going right and “stuff” is building up against us, we need to recognize our own smelting process.  When we truly look at our situation, we’ll see our own impurities rising to the top.  It is at that time that we have a choice to leave those impurities alone, change them, or embrace them.
